Straddie on the way home

I painted this from a photo taken from our car behind, we were heading home from camping with friends on South Stradbroke Island, what we locals like to call ‘Straddie’. It is a beautiful spot but we had to bring all our own water, showers, there were enviro loos and travelled 40min each day so that the ladies could have their hot showers. This is only accessible by 4WD but there’s another campsite near the public showers that is accessible without a 4WD.

This was my first time using Arches watercolour paper 100% cotton A4 size. I taped it with masking tape to a MDF board, but as you can see from the sides it seeped through.
